Chania  Visit the Venetian port, indoor market, Street markets (Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays), Old Town, city walls, glass bottomed boat trips. Rethymno also has a ventian port with many shops and restaurants close to the waterfront. Georgioupoli is a bustling resort with one of the longest beaches in Crete. Snorkelling at Paleloni Cave. Scuba diving at Chania or Almyrida (Omega Diving). Horse riding in Georgioupoli. Imbros Gorge, Omalos Plateau and Samaria Gorge; May – Sept (6.5 hours walk). Lake Kournas, Crete’s only freshwater lake. Water Park in Chania. Canoeing down the river at Georgioupoli, with freshwater turtles! Ancient Aptera with its excellent views and ancient monuments. It's on the flat topped hill visible from the villa. Glassworks at Kokkino Chorio village. Paragliding/jet skiing off Platanias/Agia Marina beaches.
