Health, Safety & Security

Take care of your safety and the security of your belongings. Supervision of children is vital at all times, particularly around the swimming pool, and on tiled floors, which are slippery when wet. Prepare for evacuation in the event of a fire, which could be in the dark. There are four fire extinguishers provided in the villa plus one kitchen fire extinguisher and a fire blanket. There's emergency lighting and signage.

NO SMOKING INSIDE THE VILLA

Emergency: POLICE-100   FIRE-199   AMBULANCE-166

You are at: Villa Koumos, Gavalochori 73008 (GPS coordinates: North 35.42271 East 24.21574).

If anyone shows the symptoms in this picture, you must all remain at the villa. Don't visit a hospital or surgery.

Call Dr Yianni or Dr Manoli on +30 2825 033000 or +30 697 5519599 immediately. They will tell you what happens next.

Inform Steve Gendall (Villa Manager) on +30 697 484 3404.

If using the villa phone omit +30 from the numbers.

We all have a duty to protect each other and prevent further cases of Covid-19. Greece has introduced new regulations and protocols to enable tourism to restart safely. When away from the villa, observe social distancing, avoid touching your face, practice hand hygiene and always carry a face mask. Use hand sanitizer when you return.

We've made Villa Koumos a very safe place for your holiday. Handles, switches, plugs, furniture and worktops have been thoroughly sanitized before your arrival. Remote controls have been sanitized and wrapped in plastic.  We’ve packed away some non-essential decorative items and ornaments. The bookshelf has been sealed and if you find wrapped items in cupboards, don’t remove or unpack them. We’ve supplied dishwasher tablets and washing machine detergent and where possible, use a 60 deg C programme in both machines. Cover sunbeds with blue striped beach towels, machine wash them regularly. Take your rubbish to the village refuse bins at the end of the lane, near the crossroads, each day.

Only use air conditioning units when doors and windows are closed but don't use the recirculation mode. In the daytime, turn air conditioning units off, open windows and doors and close the shutters. This achieves good air circulation and keeps the heat out. Make sure windows and doors are fastened back to prevent wind damage.

Yvonne will inform you about midweek white towel changes and if you’re staying more than a week, she will also change white towels and bedding (not protectors) and clean the villa at weekly intervals. She’s not permitted to handle loose laundry items, so please use the bags provided for towels and bedding. Yvonne also isn’t permitted to clean while you’re inside, so we kindly request you to leave the villa or stay on the pool deck until completion. The pool and deck area are similarly out of use when Steve is carrying out pool maintenance.

Stay safe, relax and enjoy your holiday.

Swimming Pool Safety

Use of the pool is at your own risk and is only permitted during daylight hours and when the pool lights are on. Follow the "Pool Rules" displayed at the poolside. Young children and non-swimmers must be accompanied at all times. Use the safety gates to prevent pool access by very young children. Do not use glass or breakable items at the poolside. The orange lifebuoy and blue hook rescue aids are only to be used for rescue purposes. Please dispose of any inflatables or pool toys at the end of your stay.

The pool lighting, heating and filtration are controlled automatically. Pool lighting is active from dusk until midnight. The switch for the pool deck lights is on the wall next to the left side safety gate.

Pool Maintenance is normally carried out Monday and Thursday mornings. At these times, the pool and deck area are out of use.  If you notice anything unusual about the pool, please contact the villa manager.
